Descent 3 High Res Pyro in game?

HI,
I remember back when I was playing more often that we could replace the pyro with a higher res version. Would anyone have this?

The mod already had been taken down due to the copyright if I'm right. Some years ago, I spent hours of looking for it on the Internet... Sadly, I couldn't find it. Before the removal, I got and used it. The GX looks very nice in D3.
I miss it.

I might have it on one of my old IDE drives... I don't have a converter for it at the moment.

A little investigation shows there is a (1.2) version of pyromania here:

I don't currenlty have D3 installed, so I haven't tested them. Last time I played it was at least 5 years ago.

Thanks, I'll try it this weekend. But I remember only having to put some files in the D3 directory. All it did from what I remember was change the look of the GL.

the warning is that something nasty is hosted on the game front servers, not that particular download is bad.

ah...I miss the old Pyromania. I haven't played much D3 now since monitors have all switched to widescreen and I get really nasty visual glitches/bugs trying to run D3 in Fullscreen...

It's a GX. You can tell which GX or GL is by looking at their fuselage. GX has
bent fuselage, and the another has
straight up fuselage.
