Ventrilo seems to use "Microsoft Sam". "Microsoft Sam" sounds too mechanical and takes away from the fun of game play with voice chat.

Went to this directory on Windows XP:
- C:\Program Files\Common Files\SpeechEngines\Microsoft\TTS\1033
Then renamed "SAM*.*" to "SAM-SUCKS.*" and "spttseng.dll" to "spttseng.dl2".

Rebooted. Now I can FOCUS on game play again without SAM!

seems that MS-SAM is the name of a speech synth voice that's part of windows XP. some programs that take advantage of speech synth use SAM, like this Ventrilo program. and i guess Destiny777 got sick of SAM's voice.

without doing research, i had NO IDEA wtf you were talking about Destiny777.
so the thread should be in either tech forum, or multiplayer forum.
