I just downloaded it at work. One thing's for sure: 10 is fricken UGLY. And it's bloated.

I'm sticking with 9.

Perhaps I will install it on my test computer and see what it does. However, right now that computer has the SP2 beta on it, so I'll have to format it and install SP2 final.

Looks ok to me, I'll try it later tonight.

I tried the medial play 10 beta a while back... didnt care for the extra bloat(it was actually slower than version 9) and the links to buy/rent online music is just unnessary.

9 is awesome, you just don't know.

I know that WMP9 is a POS. It has a huge problem with syncing large divx/xvid movies audio and video. And since I deal with a large amount of that sort of thing, it DOES suck. And you know what? You suck too! :D

I've become used to using MPC and Divx players. Both blow away WMP9, and probably 10 as well

Meh, I haven't had any trouble with it. And I just installed 10, and it still loads just as fast as 9. And I use this skin so I could care less what the default one looks like.

Dunno why microsoft keeps flogging their dead-horse media player. I do not know of a single PC user who uses it for anything except movies.

Winamp is better for music.
DivX player is better for movies.
Quicktime is better in the browser...

I agree with u 100% that anything past MWP6 is bloated crap
Personaly I use zoom player, or MPC

but its not the problem with ur audio syncs, cuz I tryed playing ur encodes in EVERY player I could find and its still off :P
Ive encoded tons of anime series and every player matchs the audio perfect :P
dunno what kinda freak stuff u got going on over there :P

Bah I already had the beta for version 10 a couple of weeks ago. It works just like the one released now.

Sometimes people prefer to have one program that does things Just Good Enough.

I use Zoom player. I got it off that site Stress that you linked me too to run the FLCL files. It's a nice little player with lots of ability.

WMP10 huh? ..bleh. I'll pass.

I agree completely, however mplayer2.exe + good stuff = MPC. I'm using MPC for DivX, MOV, AVI, DVD's, and it works great with subtitles, menus and whatnot. Plus, it plays Quicktime without actually having to install quicktime.

MP3s I still play with Winamp 2.65.
Floats my boat.

Where did he advertize it? There are lots of legal uses for BitTorrent. Fansubs anyone? 8)

Oh, and music aint warez either. :P

I only download legal stuff on BT, meaning I download everything before it gets licensed in the US. ;)

I only use WMP9 as a movie player because of its SRS effects.

Posted: Fri Sep 03, 2004 1:56 pm

I also only download legal stuff off bt...

My beef with renting songs is just the fact that mediaplayer 10 enables online merchants to rent songs so they play only few times or for a certian amount of time...
I can think of better things to do with my hardrive space...
