WOAHHHHHHH anaheim WHAT ARE YA DOING?
I hope the Yanks win; it would only be proper for it to be the red sox's job to defeat them.

Oh F*** you, damned new yorker.
If it wasnt for one bad judgment call by Gardenhire, You bit*es would be down 2-0 now.
The Twins can take you, and if we dont, whoever you face in the ALCS will take you.
F***ing get over yourself.

Yea, and if the Yanks hadn't grounded into 5 double plays we'd be up 2-0. I love monday morning yankee haters. They are the best. A split against the only two arms that Minn has is fine by me.

You're going to start having to chant "Lets Go EGOS".
Seriously, They have to brag. Its the only thing that makes them feel better knowing they haven't won a World Championship in almost 4 years. Sucks going to the world series twice in that span and losing both times
btw screw monday morning Yankee haters. The only time I don't hate the Yankees is during the offseason when they have to keep buying up all the talent because they just dropped another WS. It's just sad with all that payroll and talent they still can't win the whole thing.

Monday Morning Yankee hater? WTF, lol. I hate them year round regardless. They could be playing the minions of Satan himself in the World Series and I would still root against them.

Anyone see the part of the Twins/Yankees game friday where the Twins' outfielder jumped up to catch the would-be homerun, only to smash right into the wall?
Ouch! That had to hurt...

BTW, since I grew up without a baseball team I've been a Boston fan. I'm going to be so hung over on wednesday, work is going to be hell.

Since this is a baseball thread I guess I'll post this here.
Apparently yesterday Ken Caminiti, retired former Houston Astro great and one of the first guys who started bulking up before the steriod issue became a big deal died of a heart attack at age 41. He will be missed, but I have a hard time holding back a "I told you so".
The ones who have or are really abusing the steriods will reveal themselves in time. Just sad that it comes at the cost of a life.

Yes, it's pretty sad. Hella player though.
Here's an informative article I found about his last hours...
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1900273
(Rob)Silva told Newsday that Caminiti talked about how much his three young daughters meant to him, how much he loved his father, how drugs and alcohol had destroyed his life and how he had disappointed so many people.
On a lighter note: Zim rawks!
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... ple/041011
All season long, but especially this past weekend after the Yankees beat the Twins and the Red Sox swept the Angels, everywhere I go, people all say the same thing to me. 'Zim,' they say, 'your fly is unzipped.' It's getting to be kind of embarrassing. Luckily, I'm usually wearing underpants.

It's only one game. They go back and forth like this all the time. Plus, becoming a Yankees fan is like selling your soul.
I just think its pretty sad that Mussina even made it to the 7th inning. With a perfect game no less. The dude has sucked everytime he starts a postseason game and with the Redsox having a couple extra days rest their timing was all out of sync. It's also sad that Rivera is the only relief pitcher they got worth a damn and they always have to stretch him out 2-3 innings just to win a ballgame.
The sox made a statement. The yankees will have to slug the ★■◆● out of the ball just to beat them and since the Redsox starting pitching is better ... don't give up just yet.
Just couldn't believe how many pitches the home plate ump gave on the outside corner to Mussina. Those very same pitches he was calling a ball for Schilling and the rest of the Redsox staff the whole game. That, combined with the extra days off, is really the reason Mussina even made it to the 7th inning. Well, that and Matsui pulling off his best Ichiro imitation
Still, its fun baseball to watch.

I definitly noticed a very large bias in the umpire's calls...
But it's only one game. Schill didn't have a great night - this is one of the only times this will ever happen.
Yanks got lucky - it won't last. Not very many people will convincingly tell you that the Yankees are the better team.

AHHHH....typical red sox fans. Excuses after excuses, what I like, injury or not the Yanks just demolished the only pitcher that even posed a threat to the their lineup. The only reason Boston got runs, the starting pitcher just blew his no hitter and lost his confidence and the next two pitchers seemed a little jumpy. Oh Well, it's now 1-0!! and schilling couldn't even feel his ankle after the game....oh well. should be a good series, but I sure hope the second half of the 1-2 punch does a little better or this series won't be near as close as last year. arroyo has been real good, but wakefield looked horrible yesterday in relief, one inning, two runs, a home run, a hard hit ball by matsui, well, boston is still good so it should be ok.

Nobody wants to see a Yankees vs Houston/Cardinals World Series cept for Yank fans. Just like nobody wanted to see a Marlins/Yankees WS last year.
I like how you think that Schill was "Demolished". Your lineup should be able to score about 15-20 runs off of any pitcher in baseball and 6 was all you could get off a pitcher who was obviously not his best or else we wouldn't be talking about it. If it wasn't for Rivera and Bernie's opposite field hit the Yankees almost blew an 8 run lead. So, you're bragging why? It's just one game.
Just for the record I'm not a Redsox fan. I'm a baseball fan, but I hate the Yankees so they're the obvious team to cheer for here. I just wish that the Twins had won their last couple regular season games so they faced the Redsox instead of the Yankees first round because the Angels make the Yankees look silly everytime they play at Yankee stadium. Then the Redsox could have beaten the Twins and then beat the Angels and we wouldn't even be talking about this.
but didn't work out that way and the Bankees made it to the ALCS, so go Sox.
