not only is it health care... but they can pay once and take up 2 seats on public transit. all because they had to have a second helping their whole life. bleh.

What with the fitness industry, diet pills and plans. The reduction in life expectancy, hey you don't need to give 'em pensions if theyr'e six feet under right?? That 75 billion is chicken feed. It pays to keep the population fat probably.

Keep in mind that obesity isn't always the fault of the person who is fat. I'm of the mind that true obesity is a gentetic condition and not a case of someone not being able to walk away from a second helping. I would imagine being fat, I mean really fat, has got to be one of the most difficult ways to go through life. You get absolutely no sympathy (in fact ridicule is the order of the day) and nothing is made to fit, either clothes or things like seats. When I see such a large cash number cited, my first thought is less about how many fat people there are and more how much is the medical profession *harvesting* said fat folks for all they can. Seems to me that if one wanted to get into a lucrative medical field, treatment of obesity is probably right up there with plastic surgeon.

problem is the same here. while im all for equal rights blah blah blah. i dont think people who kill themsleves slowly deserve free healthcare.

in britan, i reckon it would help make the place a bit more healthier.

True genetic obesity percentage is only in the single digits.

I think ugly is a syndrome that britain needs to work on more than obesity. ::rimshot::

But seriously, I wonder how many people die each year from hypoglycemia due to the Atkin's diet. I'm more concerned with that than obesity.
