I'm looking for some recommendations. Doesn't have to be too fancy. Thanks. :)

If you're looking for something smaller, I just picked up a 512 MB Sandisk player from Circuit City for around $130. Holds about 120 songs (8 hours).

You didn't say which type of MP3 player you wanted, flash memory or HD-based?

I ended up getting one of these, it is expandable to 1GB via SD/MMC. Circuit City has a sale on all MP3 players til tomarrow. It was 99 bucks.

So far so good. I got a tape deck adapter so I can use it in both vehicles and it also has an FM tuner so I can listen to the TVs at the gym. Sound quality is top notch. :D

Just picked up a 1GB SD card too for 66 bucks from the Egg. The transfer speed is only USB 1.1 with the Rio, but I have a USB 2.0 external reader on my PC so it shouldn't be too bad. :)

Also bought some rechargible AAA's. Merry Christmas JMEaT. :P

I just bought a MP3 player the other day from Wal-mart. It's a 256 meg (expandable with SD/MMC), holds about 80 MP3s (128kbps) songs. It's an 'Ilo'. You can use it as a flash drive as well.

Ive got a 10gb Creative Nomad Jukebox 2. It was £110 ($170) at the time and now the cheapest 10gb player I can find is about £160 ($230). It was an excellent buy and has all the cool and useful features you'd need - including smart volume for times like when you want to listen to music in bed and don't want to wake up anyone near you.

I'm not sure if its still available in the UK but it will most likely be available in the USA no problem.

Downside: A CD player would only be slightly bigger. It's not exactly pocket size.
