Ive got a network adapter 3Com® PCI 3C905B-TX
and a sound card sound blaster live value that are using the same IRQ,the problem is it causes the sound to pop.
ive tryed changing the irq but windows wont let me.
i even unchecked the "use automatic setting" no go.
Any help would be apreciated.

yeah, change the slots they are in. And also go into your bios and reset the automatic irq settings so it will reassign everything.

Sound blaster lives have always hogged too many irqs and therefore cause instability in some situations. You might want to try a new sound card. I have an audigy and they seem to have fixed this problem.

The network adapter is intergrated to the mother board.
the Sound blaster however is not, would changing slots still work?

on motherboards the lowest slot usally starts at 3 or 5 depending on what you put in it, then follow the rule of skip a slot till you reach the top.
