Test your hearing

Now this is not an official occupational hearing test, nor is it a medical one. It's to see how quiet you can pick out the distortion at.

I hit -24dB on average.

They sound nearly identical to me at -15 or so.

If you look at the stats here it seems the different tests have different averages.

I tended to get stuck at about -12 dB on the Music - Pop (6") setting.

Octave (6") I was able to get down to -24 dB before I really lost my ability to hear the distortion.

I guess I'm normal. At -18 I errored so -12 for me.

I failed at -24. I'm kind of shocked because my hearing is shot from years of very loud guitars, firearms without hearing protection and wind from motorcycling at high speeds.
Plus I have a constant ringing in my ears from all of the above.
So I'm a happy camper at -24 right now ;)

I could tell till -36dB without guessing (everything correct), but can't tell them apart at -42dB. If I get it right at that level, it would be luck.

Trying other genres now.

I passed -12 once, and failed out on it once... so -12 is just about my threshold.

Part way thru the test the browsers stops reloading the sound files :(

-30. If I retook it, now that I know what to listen for, I could probably get farther--there's just a couple spots in that pop song that you can definitely hear distortion in.

I missed it there like twice on pop I think I'll try the others though.
