Do we set our clocks ahead tonight or tomorrow night?

Get ready to begin saving daylight.

The answer is actually there:
10. Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, April 3, 2005, but most people will adjust their clocks before going to bed on Saturday, April 2.

I'm adjusting my clock before I go to bed. Leave it up to the boss to decide that I get to come in at 7AM, 4 hrs earlier than my usual time to open the customer service desk

You say that now, but when it's still light at 8:30/9:00 at night in the middle of summer, you'll like it a lot more. DST was a great source of joy to me as a child; I could stay outside and play for half the night. :)

Abolish it now. I have a hard enough time getting up early as it is. DST just forces me to get up even earlier. Screw you all!

I have the automatic DST adjustment disabled where available.

Ugh, while I enjoy extra daylight greatly, something about changing the time on 13 clocks blows. :P

I hate DST...

Defender: you are a loser. I suppose you think DST makes your curtains fade faster too. o_O

DST rocks.

Ice, it only takes 10 seconds of not-so-deep thinking to discover which way to turn your clock. Consider this:

DST is to make your evenings lighter - correct? In order for your evening to be lighter, it shouldn't be 7pm any more, it'll be 8pm. So you therefore move the big hand 1 (one) division FORWARDS.

And one hour faster to hearing a STFU Mobius.

Note my original post ...

I knew to set it ahead, I was just unsure of which day I was to do it on. There are several sites on the internet that you can find with Google that specify different days (2nd or 3rd).

So ... my response is this ...

Mobius it only takes about 10 seconds of not-so-deep reading to understand the question I was asking when I started the thread. Maybe try not skimming next eh?

Mobius, you are either really dense or are totally clueless about other people.

on DST, I think everyone should set the clocks inbetween the 2 hours and just leave it there.(yes, I'm that lazy :p )

I've never done this crazy business in my entire life. As an outsider I've never really grasped why you guys do this. If you want more daylight, just go to work earlier, no need to change your clock...

Mobius wrote:DST is to make your evenings lighter - correct?
No! No it doesn't do this! It doesn't touch your evenings! It's just a mad trick, your evening stay exactly the ★■◆●ing same! Nothing is really happening, its all a trick. :P

Yeah, its been noted before. It's probably why he's such an idiot, because he never bothers to go back and look at the posts that correct him.

You can't learn from your mistakes if you don't know you made them.

If you read up on the History of DST it's actually quite interesting.

First proposed by Benjamin Franklin, many claim it's a boondoggle which became entrenched during the Depression and the "New Deal".

Others claim it saves 600,000 barrels of oil a year.

Just for the record, Farmers live by the sun, not by the clock. They start working when the sun rises. Don't blame farmers! Stop the hate!
