High-Poly Descent 3 Models Idea?

Is it possible to use, say, Kuman's models (ANY high res model) in the Descent 3 engine?

If so, could someone convert said extreme-high-poly models into Descent 3's model format?

I just figure, my video card could more than handle it, so why not try? 8)

the Descent 3d engine algorithms are not able to handle 4-6k Tri models. It will not matter how fast of a video card you have, the Fusion engine cannot handle the 380 million polygons/sec that the Radeon 9800 can handle. The Unreal engine _can_ handle 4k tri models, but it is very unreccomended. The Fusion engine is no where as good as the Unreal engine.

Now having said that, you could drastically lower Kumans poly count on his models, and I think that Descent 3 could handle it. But why bother? The models look nice. The levels could use more polys though
