What is you framerate ? What hardware are you running ? What type of connect you have ? Last point is particular of interest since you seem to skip a lot -- make sure that the Network settings in the Setup section of the D3 launcher match your connection type.

Turn off useless or unneeded detail options, lower the screen resolution, exit any extra programs that don't need to be running while D3 is running (like virus scanners and almost anything in your system tray). The less your computer has to do besides running D3, the more time it has to run D3 and the faster D3 will run. Disable any full screen AA in your video card driver settings if it is enabled. Things like that will improve your framerate.

Max,

First off, we definately need system specifications to see what your potential is.

Secondly, do you have command line parameters set? If not, try reading this thread:

phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7126

There are many options, depending on your computer setup, so if you're unsure what you need, feel free to ask what is best for your machine (once you've posted your system specification).

Third, run a timetest and post the contents of the "fps.txt" file that is generated. To run a timetest, add the following commandline parameter to your D3 launch link (or to the misc tab in the D3 setup utility)

-timetest secret2.dem

Oh, and a final note, you should be using openGL as your video renderer unless there is some specific reason not to (ie: glide-enabled video card)

CPU ?
MEMORY?
VIDEO CARD?
OPERATING SYSTEM?

that's what we need, just like you would post at any other BB

Example: My Legacy system
AMD K7 600Mhz
256MB PC133
AGP 3Dfx 3500
Windowz 98 SE

195 FPS in d3
400-800 FPS in D2_3dfx (Without BAT file)
D1 does not apply (d1x-1.42)
