Anyone check this thing out? It's a small download and it runs smoothly for a first release.
Obligatory linkage

just another skin on another Jabber client....been out (open source) for years, definately not a 'first' release...
Until they add special features I think I can live without the logo. They are supposed to eventually have some cool stuff, but I don't think its in there yet....

Alright, just another IM from a plethora to choose from. Now people will have 10 plugins in trillian to cover all of the IM proggies out there or have 100 mb of ram occupied by individual IM programs that they use most.
And as if we didnt have enough to choose from.

The best thing about all those IM proggies though is.....that you don't have to. It's good to be alone somtimes no?

Lets hope that it doesn't turn in to bloat code like the Yahoo Messenger did. Ah, those were the days

Wow, that's pretty nifty. Wonder if we'll see a Trillian plugin?

It uses Jabber, doesn't Trillain already support Jabber?
Something I use with iChat/Spotlight practically every day is searching through IMs. I type something into the search box, tell it to use only instant message logs, and it can find something for me in the text. It would be nice to see Google integrate something like this in there (since they *are* famous for searching), kinda a "search all past IMs" button.

Trillian Pro supports Jabber (and more)
Trillian Basic does not.
Basic is free, Pro is not free.
Either way, I say....
Go Trillian!

I think the main emphasis points towards the ability to make telephone calls, not the ability to chat.
They appear to be bringing in a premium service enabling calls to standard telephone lines and mobile phones (cellphones, for you lot).
It works pretty well, and it doesn't seem to be a hog.

If all you want is voice chat over the internet you can always use Teamspeak. Lots of free servers out there...

Good grief!!! I have absolutly no recollection of writing that.
While wife and kids have been at the in-laws i hit the wine a bit and finally picked up the guitar.

You can password the channel you are in and limit the number of people in the channel too.

Some server operators might like you to get permission but their are several 'open' teamspeak servers out there. I don't have a list to give you though other than going to the teamspeak site and looking there.

It's not too surprising that Google has one. Everyother Portal has one.... along with everything else. I have no need for messengers. Just a pain in the butt. I play on line most of the time i AM on line so I don't want a pop-up reducing my game just before I get a kill of score in CTF.
Bah! .. Humbug!
