Now with Thermalright no longer making these heatsinks, what should I use? I have no confidence in the HSF's I see left on the market, and am scared to try Thermal(mis)take, though they look the best (all copper..)

I used a Swiftech MCX462 with a 92mm fan for a while on my Athlon, worked pretty well. Priced pretty reasonably, too.

Never had a problem with the 3-clip mounting method, either.

Have been using the same thermaltake Volcano 6Cu+ for 3-4 years now. (couldn't find anything under 70 bux when I upgraded cpu) It still cools my XP 1800+ chip to reasonable levels... 38 C full load, it's just loud.

The swiftech MC462 is a very nice HS, but it's so damn heavy I wouldn't put it in a box that gets moved, even with the 4 stud mounts through the mobo.

edit: I hadn't seen that particular model vinny, nice price indeed. I still don't trust that socket clip though.
