LOS ANGELES (AP) - Don Adams, the wry-voiced comedian who starred as the fumbling secret agent Maxwell Smart in the 1960s TV spoof of James Bond movies, "Get Smart," has died. He was 82.

Thanks for the laughs.

Ah, man, I watched that show. I wonder if it's out of DVD yet. I'd like to see them again.

I loved Get Smart - Agent 99 was a fox. Wasn't it 99? I can't remember. I always watched the reruns on Nick at Night.

See ya Max! You were my favourite growing up. I'll never forget the "Cone of Silence" which forced you to shout to make yourself heard. I'll always remember the shoe-phone, and the way your nose got caught in the final set of doors!

I guess, in the end, death didn't "miss me by *that* much!" (indicating a very small amount.)

I THINK I JUST HURT MYSELF!

From memory, it was Barbara Feldon who played 99. And yeah, she was kinda hot.

well that sucks.

I'll always remember him turning around just in time for the doors to close on him and sqush that schnoz.

nope. he produced and owned the rights to the show, and resisted re-releasing it onto DVD. i'm of the understanding that this was because he wanted a quiet retirement and didn't want new fans bothering him non-stop till he died - understandable really.

perhaps now that he's gone they will be re-released on DVD by the Heir to the rights.

coz on my brothers last DVD buying binge (he needs help) he had the urge to buy all the get smart DVDs, only to find they didn't exist.

would you believe a set of VHS tapes?

would you believe... a betamax tape?

would you believe... a getsmart book?

would you believe... a boyscout telling it as a campfire story?

are you referring to http://www.wouldyoubelieve.com/dvd.html ?

Hard to believe the TV sieries & The Nude Bomb hasn't been released on DVD, at least Get Smart Again was.....

I am hopeful that Columbia House has released some, they have for other things like Xena (3 episodes per DVD - pricey!) and a Special Collectors Edition of Conan The Destroyer. Couldn't buy them from stores but you could get them thru Columbia....haven't found them YET though......
