While going through some cd's tonight I ran across these pictures Neitzl took of the '97 Uberfest, this is where Sup and I met and where the DBB was first conceived.

Cool pics, only remember a few names since I only start multi back in Oct 97 with D2.

Not often I see a list of names that makes me feel like a total n00b...

One of the Koolest things was the D3 Design Team was present, I think I have a picture of them in my d3 section, I'll look for the pic and post a link if I can find it!

Wow! I was skinny!

That was an awesome lan fest. I remember it was my first one and I had to drive 10 hours to get there (after my driving buddy bailed out the day of), and slept at Quasar's house. Good times.

Sure was LD, Ithink most of us were skinner those days

Hi KB I think this was 1998 uberfest you are talking about. I bought a brand new Van to go there .
Warhead and i went together If I recall correct the Houston crew sat together.

Ya, those were the days...Ill post some pics from the Gaming kribs fests as well when I can retrieve them.

Yo Vander! Glad to see you're still kickin' around the DBB. I thought of you recently as I was taking a relaxing break inside your chillout room in PULLING TEETH. We've had some huge games in there recently. Some hella fun 3 on 3 team games. There are maybe 10-15 people or so who regularly still play D2 on Kali, good times.

Thanks to Diedel you can setup Kali and D2 to run on a modern XP machine without too much difficultity, so a lot of old D2 players are commin' out of the woodwork.

Talk about coincidence..
just last week as I was moving more stuff to my new place, I found these photos (real "take to the pharmacy and get developed" photos no less!) in a drawer.

It was a great time, and I wish I had talked to many more people that time. Also I don't remember taking some of those photos! (wuz I drunk..could be)
Oh, KoolBear, the photo of R2 and Gwar(against red curtain) are mixed up, or at least the comments are.

Descentile, I hope you can find some of those old Krib fest photos, I've been trying to find them for the longest time. Especially the first one in what seemed like a NY Jonestown.

N, I posted a few around here..pretty much waht i hade left from back then. A few of us are thinking about having a old sckool lan fest in FL, but we cant seem to find slow computers! Either way, Ill keep ya informed, Xciter, Peartman and Delcio among I live near each other in CLearwater and we will keep ya informed. Still in CHI?

I went to DESCENT lanfest, Mom, I remembered what you said.

You told me not to lag, Mom, so I bought a 100bt card instead.

I really felt proud inside, Mom, the way you said I would.

I didn't lag and fly, Mom, even though the others said I did.

I know I did the right thing, Mom, I know your always right.



Now the DFest is finally ending, Mom, as the pyros leave their flight.

As I got into myPyro, Mom, I knew I'd had a successful flight.

Because of the way you raised me, so responsible and polite.

I started to fly away, Mom, but as I pulled out into the mines,

the other pyros laged me, Mom, and hit me like a load.



As I lay there on the pavement, Mom, I hear the DFesters say,

It was the other Pyro lagging, Mom, especially Stan andPeart.

I'm lying here dying, Mom. I wish you'd get here soon..

How could this happen to me, Mom? My pryo just burst like a balloon.

There is blood all around me, Mom, and most of it is mine.



I hear my team mate say, Mom, these turf wars really suc.

I just wanted to tell you, Mom, I swear I didn't lag.

It was the other pryos, Mom. The other connection was so bad.

He is on the same level as I, Mom, watching as he flies.

The only difference is, Mom, his lag, it wasn't really mine.



Why do people lag, Mom? It can ruin your whole life.

I'm feeling sharp pains now. Pains just like a knife.

The guy who hit me is still flying, Mom, and I don't think it's fair.

I'm lying here dying and all he can do is stare.



Tell my Team mate not to cry, Mom. Tell Daddy to be brave.

And when I go to heaven, Mom, put "Pyro?s boy" on my grave.

Someone should have told him, Mom, not to lag and fly.

If only they had told him, Mom, I would still be alive.



My breath is getting shorter, Mom. Ive become so very scared.

I have one last question, Mom, before I say good bye.

Yah, I'm still in Chicago. Did Delcio convince you all to go to FL?

I'll have to look around for your kribfest pics, but for some reason, this site is kinda slow for me here at work. Oh, and slow computers? What's the fastest slow computer you need? I might actually have a few.

And SPUD! Where ya been man? Still in the NW? And you got skinny? I gotta see that, yo!

anyhow, I guess I should get back to work.
