Important notice for those that use third-party IM clients

If you use a third-party client to log onto ICQ, check for a plugin update. AOL messed with the network so that third-party clients can't send/recieve messages. Miranda IM and Trillian already have updated plugins released.

ICQ OscarJ - Miranda IM (linked for those of you not running the Updater plugin)

Trillian users can download the update via the client.

It should just pop up. Then again maybe it's dependant on your version? I have v3 Basic and it came up just fine.

if you restart trillian it should autoupdate when it starts up.
otherwise i guess you could re-download the entire trillian from the website - that might download the most uptodate version. *shrug* who knows

AIM always worked, it was ICQ that this effected.

Gaim worked because it connects via TOC2 (public AIM protocol), not Oscar. Oscar is AOL's proprietary protocol, and the only way to connect to ICQ.

So I download the whole new Trillian pro again or is there an update just for the ICQ client in it?

Bring up the Trillian preferences. Right from the main page on the right side it says \"Pick a task...\", click the update trillian option.
