I've always been a Mac user, way back in the days of the Mac Classic. I remember getting excited when we upgraded to System 8. I just upgraded to Leopard and Final Cut Studio 2 last week, and I'd say that if you're not itching to jump on the Time Machine/Spaces bandwagon, hold off until 10.5.1. I've ...

That would be an easy enough edit, just two layers of video, one with the lights on and one with the lights off, that you segment into each window/light strand, then fade between the two layers on each segment. But.... i can imagine an edit job taking near as much work to get right as just rigging ...

FS: Radeon X300: $30
A dorm-mate of mine is moving and gave me his Radeon X300 128 MB PCI-Express graphics card to sell for $30 plus shipping. Anyone interested? Lemme know. president[at]arasian.com

The Bourne Ultimatum, by Robert Ludlum, though I didn't finish it. It was the same stuff over and over again, a story that should have ended on page 150 (or book 2), but apparently Ludlum felt the need to keep going and going and going. So I'm looking to now read Airframe, by Michael Crichton, as I ...

Edit: Sick as hell. I'll brag here and say that I don't have to take core classes, although I did buy textbooks today - used - and they ran me around $130... not too bad, really. DC what year? And a double major seems like a hell of a lot of work. Good combo though, really. Or trailer reversing? I'm ...

A shout out from college!
Yes, I'm officially a college student! wooo.
I just went to my first class, where I learned that we don't have textbooks or tests. It's a good way to start the day, let's hope it stays that way.
Though I've already gotten sick

Oh yeah Krom, take 3840x1024! :P Bettina, the 5200 should be absoloutly fine as long as you keep the drivers up to date. I've run Half Life 2, Doom 3, all the good stuff with medium-high quality gfx settings, and it works fine. But yeah, the graphics card isn't the limiting factor here and upgrading ...

I wouldn't particularly call Bryce crap. I export then render most of my 3D Studio stuff in Bryce because of the atmospheric and landscaping effects it has... It's just a slightly slower rendering system and horrible contraints (which is why i do my modeling in 3d Studio) Anyway http://arasian.com ...

Record Industry Wants More Money (no, really?)
But this time they actually come out and say it....

Looks like it's back to illegal downloading. As a matter of principle, not prices.Apple charges 99 cents to download songs, but two major record companies are pushing for an increase.

Roid, your current avatar reminds me of The Ring (American) or Ringu (Japan). I'm pretty sure it's a drawing representing the movie. Girl crawling out of TV The girl &tc. I love it, at least a lot more than IE 6. Mobi, this is where you come in. Everything that I coded for Firefox and said "screw it" for IE users and it didn't work now works in IE7. It has major CSS compatibility improvements, it accurately renders semi-transparent PNG's, and it FINALLY introduces ...

Alright, everybody share one (or more) tips that you've learned to help you live your life better. For example, how to avoid getting points on your license from the speeding ticket! Can you just set the 'really long name' to be the 'IP address' in the hosts file and use that? Or, set something up in ~/.login or ~/.profile (dunno which it is for your version) that sets your short name to the long name for you as a variable, kinda like path? (I don't know if that's possible, just ...
