I'm certainly no advocate of where drug laws currently stand or the war on drugs, but to pass off the problem of drug-related violence as \"the government's problem\" is incredibly naive on every level. First, responsibility for the violence does not solely lie with the government. I will agree that ...

It's probably more time than the crime deserves, but the man certainly deserves to be in prison. He's an idiot for turning down a plea deal, there's not a chance in hell any jury would let him get off a second time.

a) Most pot smokers aren't hippies and don't give a damn.
b) The type of people who would genuinely care are the same type who would grow it in their garden/closet or have buddies who do.

Re:

First of all, let me clarify my position a little bit. I'm by no means advocating just opening up the borders to anyone who wants to come here. At the same time, I understand that it's virtually impossible for a bottom-class Mexican to ever be able to afford to immigrate into this country legally ...

On another note, a lot of people have broken laws for a lot worse reasons than a Mexican crossing the border to try and have a better life in the US, myself included. \"... but the illegals don't even have the RIGHT to be here.\" I think you're confusing rights with laws: \"We hold these truths to ...

Don't know about Arizona law, but in TX it's illegal to display or announce possesion of a weapon in a threatening manner in public. Besides, if he was really \"gutsy\" he wouldn't have brought the gun :P

Patron tequila is my personal favorite. The "Wow! Now that's good stuff!" factor is amazing. It's a little hard on the wallet but well worth it. Soooo smooth. If you're putting it in mixed drinks, though, go for something less expensive. For margaritas Cuervo Gold is as good as it gets. MP
