Need upgrade CPU / Socket 939
I have a DFI Lanparty SLI-DR NF4 with an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60. CPU out-of-the-box runs at 2.61 Ghz.
Yeah, this has been a fantastic CPU and was worth the $1K I paid for it new but I'd like a little more speed without replacing the whole box ... Do I have any faster CPU options here?
Thanks,
D

VC++ 2005 Static Library
Anybody know how to create one? I have been struggling all morning trying to figure out how to create a static library. There is not static library project template and I can't find references to static library creation in the help. Project requirements dictate that I cannot use DLLs or .NET stuff ...

Cleaning House, Need CPU Diagnosis Info
I'm trying to clean house and get rif of all these hundreds of PC parts lying around in my garage. To assist in the process of determining which parts were functional and which were toast I set up an open case PC system. This allows me to get a good working PC configuration running then quickly swap ...

Fliptw the problem is that when I install FC6 and it goes to reboot/config the first time, the X server fails to start. I thought it was because I have a widescreen monitor so I tried it with an old 1280x1024 Gateway CRT ... same problem. I have tried FC3 also and I can get it to boot but as soon as ...

I think I can fix this without so much effort after all. Apparently when I boot up FC6 it sets my monitor to an out-of-range frequency. I forget where the default monitor resolution and frequency is stored ... if I knew I could boot into state 3, change it, and reboot to state 5. Anyone remember ...

Okay, I did an upgrade over the existing install and it added the bootloader to it, and now I'm posting from Fedora! :D I am having the exact same problem you originally did with a new FC6 install. Can you tell me specifically what you did to get it to boot? You loaded an upgrade to FC6? I ...

Personally I couldn't care less. But the gaming industry has come a long way since the 1998-ish days of D3, and I remember back then we were saying the same thing about an engine that had pretty much the same capabilities. But eight years later, games have evolved (and so has hardware!). You are ...

I am looking for a good low cost dual core motherboard/cpu combo. My firm requirements are simply : * PCI Express 16 video slot for 7900 GT * Dual core AMD or Intel (Please no brand wars here) * Needs to be expandable when I get more money.
