Re:
Any predator? No. An alligator should be able to kill a bear. When they get a peice of you, they spin. A killer whale pwns anything in the water. They eat great white sharks. Well yeah, a water predator will have a huge advantage in water against a land animal. You could also say that a bear could ...

Sizing also depends greatly on the type of bike and the use. I ride a 53cm road bike, which is about 21"... my mountain bike is 16.5", which is too small for general riding purposes, but great for more demanding riding where I need to move around on the bike a lot. I agree with Vander on the disc ...

I use heavy picks (2mm) because I like the 'feedback' pressure the strings give when the pick doesn't flex. It gives a very good range of dynamic control, but when I'm playing hard (i.e. rocking out for a crowd) I'm really hammering the strings, which isn't good for their lifespan. That, combined ...

For acoustic, I use John Pearse Jazz Light nickel wound, or GHS White Bronze. I love the tone of that kind of string. I have a small guitar, so the brightness really gives it a lively tone for picking. Kind of "overdrives" when I strum hard, though. Electric, I use Ernie Ball 10-52. I like 10s on ...

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but "owned" plus "bike" made me think of it... I still cringe every time I watch this.

The only fee that's too big is the one they don't want to pay. As a rather extreme example, here's a bit of a conversation between me and someone who wanted to hire my Celtic band on St. Pat's: Him: So how much would you charge for something like this? <me finding out details> Me: Generally it'd be ...

Nice! I just got a road bike myself. Mine's a Giant OCR1 ; pretty much the same type of relaxed-geometry thing as yours, only in the new 'compact' frame style which I don't know if I'm that keen on. And for some reason it has all Ultegra components, even though the specs say some 105. Take good care ...

so, is this effect the cause of the visual "feathering" that happens near the hard edge of an object when you are looking past it? ie: it appears that the edge is somewhat translucent, and perhaps the light is BENDING around it. i always thought it was because the edge of the object was thin enough ...
