I think you put the player in a room on the terrain (or over it), texture it a certain way, then hit the link to external room or some such. Been a while since I played with d3edit though...

I'd agree. Although when he posted about it on the pure boards he didn't really seem bothered by the loss at all.

Which sucks since I can't even afford to fly a BS in pvp atm. :(

Since when was driving a freedom (you all make it sound like its a right you have)? It's a priviledge and if the elderly can't do it safely then they shouldn't be allowed to. No one should.

I would think that, ideally, neither type of controller should allow a player to turn faster than another. But what do I know. I don't play with mouselook on either, and wasn't aware of the option until this little discussion. As far as turn rate goes, how much faster can a mouser out turn a stick ...

Which indicates a possible bug in D2X-XL, or something about how he has the d1 stuff set up is causing it. (not patched, or lord knows what else)

I would wager power supply. Quit working so I replaced it. I didn't notice the leakage until I was hooking the new one up. Then I thought, what the hell, so I fired it up :) I have more than one machine so it wasn't exactly 'mission critical' that it not catch on fire or anything.

Re: capacitors

Idle question. On one of my boxes, I've got two or three capacitors that are beside the cpu socket that leaked a little bit it would seem. The box is still running and doesn't seem to have suffered any readily apparent ill effects. Is this something I need to be concerned about? I really don't know ...

Example then. First mission of the main d2 campaign. I'm sitting between the switch that opens a wall and the hidden door that leads to the ammo rack. All the bots on the other side are firing at that hidden door to try to hit me.

The wall color changes when you shoot but the change isn't very uniform (some cube sides get colored, then suddenly they aren't, it's an all or nothing kinda thing). that and with flares, the walls flash from tinted to regular and back over and over till the flare burns out. I can get some screens ...
