D3Edit and Open-GL?
Am I imagining things, or did there used to be a command line you could use to set D3Edit in Open-GL mode? I seem to recall reading something about it a long time ago...

Thanks Diti :) and I know how you feel, I'm also on 56k :( Alright, so the lighting finished, and I'm happy with it (I updated screenshots, they look the same as the old ones though, just minor differences), but today I discovered another problem with the level. I was really hoping to upload today ...

Yeah I'm aware of the file size difference... Hopefully the file wont be too huge after lighting is done. There does seem to be a difference between lightmap spacing of 1 and 2. I've only really noticed it in the round rooms. The lighting seems to blend better in those areas. I could be wrong though.

I'm running the lighting on my laptop, it's gotta 2.2ghz P4 and 384mb ram. It's not too bad, but I have to keep a fan blowing on it constantly, because it gets hot! My other computer is a dual 450mhz Pentium 3, and it's just way too slow to run the lighting for this level. It's taking such a long ...

Joining internal and external rooms
What is the proper way to join an internal room to an external room? The way I've always done it is to just attach all rooms and then later mark the rooms that are external with the external flag under the room properties menu. I've heard though, that this is not the way to do it, since it causes ...

The download link was removed because there was a problem with the level. There was a problem with visibility, you could only see other players if you were in the same room with them... I'm pretty sure the problem is fixed now, I recalculated the BOA vis table and the problem disappeared. I still ...

That's good... yeah I think you were right, I think that terrain lighting thing was a driver problem. Thanks Thorne, for hosting the file on your server for now. I think I'll create a new topic announcing release once the file is uploaded to PD or at L4Y. Unless you think I should do it now... I ...

Sorry for the wait. Everything is done now (I decided to get rid of the sound sources... I couldn't get them to work right :() so I just need to upload the file and post links. if and when you add another lightsource and run your lights, delete the source after words if you really don't want multiple suns. Thanks, nice tip. :) I tried lighting with multiple light sources though, and it didn't really help too much... so I think I'll just stick with one light source. I've ...

Thanks for the suggestions, I still haven't fixed the problem, I only have 1 light source on the terrain, I'm going to try adding another to see if it helps. I tried moving the one I had, but it had no effect, and also I tried different lightmap spacings, it didn't really do anything... so I'm just ...

Alright, so... sphere lights work. :) http://home.ripway.com/2004-9/172350/Screenshot026.jpg The shadow was cast by an invisible sphere light. The detail in the shadows isn't that great, I had to increase the contrast in the screenshot to show that there is actually a shadow there. Here's the mn3 ...

Any particular light settings used to yield that effect? Well you need a powerful light. I just used a normal white lightmap and increased the multiplier from 1 to either 2 or 3. A custom lightmap would have been better... umm I also had lightmap spacing set to 2. I haven't tried anything over 2. I ...

I think it looks great. :) I like the loadscreen, it's nice. The lighting looks good, but I noticed that the doors seem to be a little bright. Maybe the texture just looks to bright, I dunno. Oh, and I cannot remember if there were secret doors in the original, if there was, let me know so I can fix ...

But there is... What's wrong with my idea of having wind force out anything that tries to enter the protected room? You cannot respawn with a flag, right? Idea #2: I can mod a Black Shark to do no damage, and people can use that to suck players with the flag out of the protected rooms. (I'd rather ...

Skyalmian: Alright, here's my proposed solution: http://home.ripway.com/2004-9/172350/protectedstart.jpg Now if there's a good reason not to have the respawn points set up this way then I'll change it, and I'll just forget about trying to creating protected respawn points. :) Testiculese: You make ...
