This is a far cry from a 'boxy' level of Minerva days, so I am very happy to see something like this being made for the follow-on Overload. Good job! Looks great and good flow and design!

Yeah, I seriously don't have time and there is a lot of imbalance in the enemies and weapon loadout that really hamper enjoyment of the game. I really find that the 'feel' of Descent isn't as strong as when I play the actual series.

I know The Enemy Within had an insane difference between Insane and Ace mods in terms of how hard Robots were. I also made a change between Trainee and Rookie where there was a stark difference on trainee and you could pretty much beat the entire level set with eyes closed on that difficulty setting!

It's fine Pumo. I already got it. It is a shame this never went through. I even Tweeted the guy who was on the contract, he's still active on Twitter. I've not gotten a response back from him, not like I expect to.

I bet! I'm always impressed when people trounce my levels and make it look easy. It is the type of stuff level designers love to see, at least I do. I plop down a challenge, that is the level set and I go: "Let's see what you can do." And you showed me exactly what you can do and it was fantastic. :)

In terms of difficulty curve, Bahagad and Lost Levels were my 'learn as I go' sort of level designing projects. Enemy Within was a bit better in this regard, but in terms of complete and imo perfect difficulty curve, Descent Vignettes seems to have this pretty well set.

You know, booting up level 1 and seeing class 2 platformers alongside a good wealth of medium hulks doesn't really bode well for first impressions on the overall difficulty of this set.

Doesn't matter anyway. OBS won't even update the Descent window as it is being captured. So whatever it loads up on stays on the OBS screen during recording. So I'm playing through a window, but OBS still has me on the main menu title screen.

The level designs feel simple and quaint. They are getting bigger from level to level, but unsure if we'll see outdoors like in Descent 3 or if it'll all stay indoors. The robots are actually quite hard to tell apart except for a few exceptional ones (I'm looking at the Diamond Claw remake).

Wow...I haven't played Descent in over 5 years. I'm a keyboard only player and I was pretty good at it, but now I feel weird and out of place using the same control scheme setup in Overload. lol

Literally. Just found out about this game in the last 24 hours. Had no idea it even existing, kickstarter, anything. Guess it is based on cubic architecture, something I am apparently semi-decent at. Might as well take a look at this and see if it has an editor and see if I can make some MP levels ...
