I am confused. The chart I linked to shows a pathetic 10-20% increase. If they could dig up ANY benchmark making it look awesome, don't you think they would do it?Mobius wrote:Yes. Two cores != twice as fast except in very rare circumstances.

Computer Connectors in Germany
Howdi, I am thinking of building a new pc or donating an older PC for a friend in Germany. Does any one know if they use the same physical connections we do? Obviously power is different, no problem, but I am wondering about: monitors DVI and D-sub like us? modems: RJ11 jack and DTMF signals like us ...

Has there been any progress with making multiplayer levels with robots in 'em? I recall being in one or two games with a prototype.

Thanks! A PC I built for a kid is apparently promptly shutting off once in a while, like once per 2 weeks. I asked if it was during hard use and he said yes. The case seems well ventilated, so I am suprised. If I get him on the phone, I'll suggest he load folding at home and see if 100% CPU duty ...

I am currently doing a gravity wave scan and am bored with it.
Does protein folding have a cool wiggling folding screensaver? If so, I'm there. Just need some hand holding . . .
Can do team etc.

Thanks Fire' That was a thoughtful answer and took more time than I probably deserved! I may dual boot some ...

Topher, I agree, but Win64 is a new product, I think. No reason roll the dice with MS beta testing. I was planning on 2x1GB ram. Sorry my post wasn't clear on that. 1) Why buy a core using an obsolete process? Get a "Venice" core AMD chip. I should post a forum macro for this one, I think the "woop woop crackhead alert!" would be a good one...
