I'm curious as to why this command is needed at each reboot? If my memory serves correct, then this is a symlink to /dev/input/js0. If this command is issued as root, then it should be a permanent file.Xamindar wrote:ln -s /dev/input/js0 /dev/js0
You will also have to run it again every time you reboot.

Yeah, I never owned that game, but I played the demo for a while with my brother. Good times. BTW, if any DBBer gets Mario Kart DS let me know. I would like to race you. There is a thing called friend codes that lets me race friends on my list. That's another bad thing kinda. Nintendo doesn't allow ...

Let me describe some items real quick. The blue shell has changed for those of you that know it from the 64 on. It doesn't race along the ground, and short of a star it can't be dodged. It flys in the air now, so it only hits the leader, and it really takes them out. It will be at least 3 seconds or ...

That's very strange. The programs I used were jstest, and jscal to get my joystick working. Once I had it calibrated I was able to use it in Descent 3 right away. I'm using an analog joystick, so the only other problem that I can think of is that you may not have all the needed USB drivers compiled ...

DCrazy, this seems to be a known problem with many hardware wireless routers. They simply do not work. I've had two D-Link DI-624 routers now. The first one UPnP worked fine, but it would drop the wireless connection at random times quite frequently. The second seems to do okay, and to my knowledge ...

He said 400kbps, not KB/sec. Note the lower-case B. There is a HUGE difference between the two. Do you happen to have a link to a website describing this? The only difference that I'm aware of would be: KB/S = Kilobits per second KB/s = Kilobytes per second I'm not aware of kb/s being any different ...

Now what is the "checksum" bug? I can't believe no one has explained this yet. I suppose it's because they don't use Linux, and play soley on Windows servers. This is a level bug that doesn't allow a Linux client to join a Windows server or a Windows client to join a Linux server. It has to do with ...

Tyranny, I'm not so sure about that. I have a friend who is a physics major, and from what he said, you're free falling in space. He said every object in space has gravity. Woodchip, I'm an undergraduate at school right now studying to be a computer programmer, and from what I've been told the reason for 64 bit is for larger memory address allocation. Not really for integer values because 2^32 is quite a large number, but mainly for pointer opperations. See pointers ...

Interesting. I have noticed that sometimes D3 will crash on me in the middle of a game, usually when a certain person joins the game. What is the exact problem? SIGNAL 11 caught, aborting I've found out that it's the 2.6.8.1 kernel. I've switched back to a 2.4.x kernel mainly the 2.4.27 kernel, and Descent 3 runs again. I even tried re-installing Descent 3 with the 2.6.8.1 kernel to no avail. I've got everything working for the 2 ...
