I am familiar with Hamachi, but am not sure exactly how to set it up. Are there instructions online somewhere?

Not sure this question has been asked before, but I'm looking for ways to play against a friend of mine via the internet. Modem play doesn't work, and Kali is not an option. What are my options for playing someone across the internet, and how do I find people who want to play? Descent 2 mostly ...

I can't seem to get Kali to run on my computer anymore. I did a Windows update and have SP 3, and now things are screwy. Any option other than Kali, or is there a fix?

Thank you for your reply. It was very detailed and I definately understand it better. How do I tell Descent 3 which port to use for the Game?

I am running D3 on XP and I want to play against a friend. Apparently I have to have an IP address and then a port number. I know how to find the IP address (www.whatsmyip.org), but how do I determine my and my friend's Port number? ANd then, once I have that, Do I enter the information like this ...

I have Descent 1-3, but prefer D2. I can't seem to run it on XP because the soundcard that is in my current XP machine is different from the choices in the install program. When I select one, it runs very slowly.

Any suggestions?
