Re: Descent 3 source code released
Reading this old thread on Planet Descent, it looks like the Version 1.5 patch does not update the version internally (see Matthew's comments).

Anyone looking for the Version 1.5 bug list might want to see Suncho's list as he addressed whether or not the latest Version 1.5 beta addressed particular bugs. Perhaps you and Grizz should try the unofficial Version 1.5 Beta patch and see if that makes a difference: http://www.descent3.com/downloads.php#n_america It looks like some memory leaks may have been addressed based on the issues it is supposed to fix. I recall seeing posts in the past about what Omron buttons people were stashing for future replacements in Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro joysticks. Does anyone know suitable replacements offhand? Thanks for posting.
It might be helpful to indicate exactly what configuration you are using, as in, D3 version number, region (U.S., Australian, etc.), mods, etc. Perhaps some configurations don't demonstrate these issues.

What make and model graphics adapter does your computer use and what is the version number of the driver? Do you know for a fact that your graphics adapter supports 3D programs (older Intel and/or onboard graphics chipsets frequently don't)?
