Disk Image
Diedel -- I can help you out with the disk image. Mac users are a bit picky when it comes to downloadable files. Here's the deal: The file that's downloaded is a zip file. After downloading it, the contents are an empty folder called \"__MACOSX\", a disk image, and a read me file. Having to open a ...

Re:
Yeah, ShadowFury is right. The GUI app encloses the executable in a bunch of folders, so looking in ../../../Data should work fine, for the Data and the Missions.Diedel wrote:I see. Does that mean all the other folders are at ../../../<folder> too?

Re: A few more cosmetic/menu bugs
Fixed in latest versions, which aren't available for OS X yet. Go donate - if I could afford a Mac, these things would be fixed in two days. Geez - I had about 4000 D/Ls total of the Mac version so far, and 8 or 9 ppl have donated some money (USD 150 total). Ask, and ye shall receive. 16.6666666 ...

A few more cosmetic/menu bugs
After fiddling around with D2X-XL, here are a few more cosmetic/menu bugs that I've found. 1. When in windowed mode, the main menu blinks to black about once every 30 seconds. 2. The \"Fullscreen\" setting is not preserved for a player across launches. If you choose to go fullscreen, quit D2X-XL and ...

Re: D2X-XL is a horrible Mac OS X citizen, other problems
Have you checked off the 'Play D1 Missions' checkbox? Heh, I was a bit bewildered when you mentioned this option, because it would have been ridiculously obvious. I searched high and low, but couldn't find it. But I happened by chance to change to a larger resolution, and now that option shows on ...

D2X-XL is a horrible Mac OS X citizen, other problems
I was hoping to use D2X-XL to play Descent 2 (and multiplayer games), but the fact that it's such a horrible Mac OS X citizen makes it very frustrating to use. Here are a few problems, and how I think they should be fixed: 1. First of all, D2X-XL still doesn't detect data files in the same folder as ...

OK, I am a dumbass. I was running D2 off a shortcut from the desktop that was pointing to version 1.5.20. When the name of the executable was changed from D2x-w32 to D2x-xl, I never updated my shortcut. The problem is fixed in the latest version. Incidentally, just for the sake of completeness, it ...

OK, I rechecked my key mappings. There was a solid square mapped to the converter. It looks like the converter somehow got mapped to a non-printable character. I deleted the pilot and created a new one. One problem down, but... When loading level 2, the program put up an error message box: Warning ...

Found a bug - Energy to shield converter doesn't work. I press the T key and nothing happens.

I would be happy if someone had available a backup of a certain music track that was released by Orbital shortly before the D4 project went under. The name of the track was "One Way Ticket." The only copy I have got corrupted during some file transfer or another. I know it's grasping at straws, but ...
