Help!! Descent II runs too fast in Win 98SE 1000mhz !

Is there a way to make Descent II run slower on my generic 1000mhz pc? It has an Athlon processor, 512mb of ram, and a GeForce4 MX 440 video card.

The generic machine was built in 2000, it ran okay before I upgraded to a faster processor.
