The game host was at the "Select up to 8 players, Press Enter to begin" screen when the "join" client would error out. I'm at a loss on the rendering glitch - it is completely reproducible here, and I don't have any rendering option referring to "lightmaps" (just downloaded 1.4.18 again; created a ...

LAN neighbors have all left for the day, and only one of my boxes has Windo$e (just for d2x!), so will test file transfers tomorrow. BTW, it was erroring out instantly, with no visible delay. The LAN is switched fast-ethernet, and the PC's are XP Pro. Did notice a change or two from 1.4.17 to 1.4.18 ...

Yes, maybe I pruned out too much redundancy in my wording, but _both_ machines are using d2x-w32 1.4.17 _and_ have the option enabled.

Haven't been able to get "Enable Auto Download" to work. Using two d2x-w32 1.4.17 clients with this option enabled. When either hosts a game using either udp/ip or tracker with a level that the other client doesn't have, the "join" client always gets the box: "The mission for that netgame is not ...

fliptw, no confusion here. Compare Nvidia's driver page: http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html with ATI's: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=23 Nvidia provides binary-only drivers. ATI also provides binary-only drivers, and further "supportive" information on "the open ...

Don't have even a recent generation of either vendors card on my FreeBSD desktops, but ATI seems to be more supportive of the open source driver effort than Nvidia (binary-only "support"). If D2X extensions would support it, I'd gladly buy a new Radeon and install an XP boot-partition just to play D!

The current 1.4.15 now works with multiple private trackers - thanks! Here's another one: Speed! You are violating the implied understanding of "Old Skool" - this is seriously heady stuff for us ol' D1/D2 geezers - more eyecandy than is legal, what with all the D3 textures, colorized transparent walls, camera views - my pacemaker needs a new battery! Diedel, something broke/changed between 1.4.6 and 1.4.9 with keyboard control ... now, all keyboard axis controls act like cruise is on (which isn't btw) - a tap on left sets continuous left motion until countered with a tap on right = much harder to keep baddies in cross-hairs! Haven't figured out ...
