Re: Ten Years
Guess what I found http://web.archive.org/web/19990418012301/http://www.pyropilots.org/sages.html I didn't see many old PPG members here... Karash, Merl, Shaka... Wow, I wrote a lot of stuff I forgot all about- http://web.archive.org/web/19990218141920/http://www.pyropilots.org/faqs.html Must be ...

Re: D2 multiplayer - try to top this...
Funny to think about it.. the Rangers were the n00bs last time I was playing, in the Pyro Pilot's Guild... I think they (PPG) are all dead now.. or idling in IRC But the Rangers are still around. Nice to see.

Re: D2 multiplayer - try to top this...
hmmmm.. I'd have to say that really doesn't look so extreme- some good tri-cording, but he's not ripping the twist off rolling to much ;-) Mostly the pilots he's playing must like to eat their peas, cause they go barging right in there for a mouthful LOL! My youngest son is 8 now, think it's time to ...

So what I did- I got the Breadboard + wires kit I linked in my post above. $13.48, which is only a bit cheaper than if I got 2 of the ones linked in the post directly above + a wire kit. If I were to do it again, I would go that route. I cut my long board in half w/ a hack saw and used both pieces ...

OK, I'll bite... I've been holding off posting here, but seems I can't resist the pull of reminiscence... a sure sign of advancing age, I suspect. I started playing December 14th, 1994- the day I finished grad school finals. Soon afterwards I found the PPG on IRC, started playing multi w/ IHHD and ...

I just had a thought... does this converter work w/ other joysticks? I don't have any other kind, so I can't really test it. Also, Grendel, Koolbear's given me space to put up my sidewinder repair page @ zapp.koolbear.com, so as soon as your tutorial is ready I'll slap it up alongside the repair ...

One interesting observation- if I have a 3d pro plugged in hte game port, and then attach another one w/ the adapter, the gameport stick suddenly shows "not connected". If I unplug/replug it in, it reconnects and works OK. Any idea why this would happen? Strange. On my test machine (with a 3DP on a ...

Major control bug in multiplayer 1.4.9- all the contols are opposite in multiplayer on Kali when someone else hosts- single player is fine. I did not get a chance to host a game myself. Diedel: well, I have 1.1.44, 1.2.7 and 1.3.16- it doesn't happen in 1.1.44, but the others it does. Don't know if it's related, but 1.1.44 has the power-up flash bug (where picking up several power-ups at once looks like getting a head-on flash missle hit) and 1.2.7+ ver. do not. Something to do w ...

On my setup- Radeon 9800 pro 128 w/ Omega latest drivers, XP pro SP2, the "adjust brightness by gamma correction" option causes the screen to flicker badly, and when I pick up power-ups it is like getting hit w/ a flash missle, the screen goes completely white for a couple seconds. My monitor refresh is 85hz, and v-synch is disabled anyway, so that is not the issue. Has no effect, I've set it from 60 to 100 hz... I guess it is something w/ my set-up.. anyone have the same video card- Radeon 9800 pro 128, Using D1x_oglmw in XP? Edit: I have the same problem on a different ...

well, 50 FPS is OK, but 80 gives you that extra snap to your turns and twist- just feels right. 50 is sluggish. Maybe I'm just spoiled by D2x_w32... but dang it, the readme says 80 FPS, so I want 80 FPS! I had thought about contacting Sekmu (we go wayyyyy back) but I think he's been idle on IRC for ...

D1x framecap bug?
I've noticed that in D1x 1.40, 1.43, 1.43mw and 1.43_oglmw my framecap setting has no effect over 50. Of course, 80 is supposed to be the max, but any setting from 50-80 results in 50 FPS. My monitor refresh is 85hz, and v-synch is disabled anyway, so that is not the issue. I got thinking about this ...

Diedel: Would it be possible to fix the framecap bug in D1x? At least on my systems, D1x is capped at 50 FPS, just like D2x was capped at 76 before you fixed it (great job!). since a lot of D2x was moved directly over from D1x, maybe the same bug got propigated? Does anyone else see this framecap in ...
