You're in for a good time I see.

Makes me want to give it a try (in full gear that is!) actually, I'd be scared of Crevasses...

All right, no more mention of Wyzar System until it comes out :P I don't think it's worth making a new thread for it. ** I thought I'd mention I made Lunar Outpost Reloaded work by adding a switch to enable the red access key to be got - there was no trigger for it according to D2X-XL (wierd thing ...

but I bet I will be instead, when I've finished making a hangar like in D3 Mercenary Level 3, with D2X-XL. The plan I've done suggests it will take between 1000 and 1500 cubes for that room... I wonder how it will end up - crashy or amazing? And I wonder if I'll have enough cubes left for the rest ...

Oh yeah, I remember in those Bahagad secret levels, I enabled \"-secretsave\" in D2X-XL because I could see they were designed with being able to save in mind  The ONLY secret level that ever got the balance of hardness and fun right was \"Fort Pyr Security Training Post\" (Vertigo level S1 ...

do you mean when you die in a level after the reactor is destroyed and it makes you come out of the last secret level instead of starting the next one? (e.g. when I just died trying to escape from Coalbank Shaft and I ended up back in Riverbed Mine) Edit: forgot to mention, just in case: since the ...

it's good that it can be fixed, but I think it makes no real difference to how easy it is to complete the D1 levels. It would still count as being \"Descent Chrono\" if you started with Laser Level 1 and Concussion Missiles on each level, but it's easier (and more fun) to keep your previous weaponry ...

Lucky I got up to \"level 11\" at this time: D2X-XL is way too crashy and buggy for some reason, and when you end Asteroid Secret Base (or any D1 secret level) it automatically recurs unlimited attempts to load \"level 0\". I thought that problem had been fixed some time ago. It seems I was wrong ...

Descent Chrono
I've figured out a great chronological order to play the official Descent Single Player campaigns. The rules are to play through in insane skill without dying, get virtually everywhere in the level you can, and only ignore robots created by MatCens.Use the latest version of D2X-XL for the D1 and D2 ...

No powerups are invisible, but I'm sure there are no modified powerups in lost levels ( :!: ). (That is, in terms of that the cyclone missile powerup looks the same as the mega missile powerup) Anyway, I didn't say powerups, I said \"weapons\", but I meant projectiles. The ITD fired green shards in ...

I forgot about the sound tracks: I've only put a basic set like the D2 counterstrike in, which are: 1 - D1 Level 8 2 - D1 Level 15 3 - D1 Level 11 4 - D1 Level 7 These suit the first 3 levels, and the last level, but definitely not some of the other levels, so I've put a heavily compressed set of ...

 It was fun while it lasted... on level 6, I couldn't get into the red access door because there was a continuous malfunction and the game crashed instantly (i.e. it suddenly was not there and there was just deaktop instead) So I just cheated through the rest and defeated that official ...

How about (what seems) the most in-depth site on the internet about D1?
http://members.fortunecity.com/cymbeline/start.html
Easy to find if you type \"charon volatile mine\" in google and it's the only one there.

I remember trying to get there too, but I looked on a level editor (DEVIL in this case) and it turned out that it was just a separate area that should have been deleted. Another example of this is in D2 Level 17 in the reactor room, where there is an unreachable cube. There are also some un-openable ...

Yes, it is indeed possible, but with Threshers, which prove the biggest problem, it is very hard to not get hit by them up close, and if you don't then you will have only done a slight bit of damage, and then will have to get to a safe place again or else you run the extremely high risk of dying ...

When you try to destroy all robots in the level, including those generated by MatCens, there will come a time where you run out of Vauss ammunition (which is never in an infinite supply), and throw all secondary weapons at them that you can afford, and they still won't all be dead. At that point ...

It was funny in Level 3 of Bahagad, where there is a choice of an Earthshaker or an extra life. There is a way of getting powerups in the next cube if it is in the middle of a normal-depth cube, if you go forward just enough. I got the Earthshaker that way (moving very slowly forward until it was in ...

I think it's just because most people are impatient, a bit like with playing D3 on insane. It didn't really take longer than 1 hour to complete, even though it said something like 40 hours in the timer (because D2X-XL's \"main bug\" is skipping between 6 minutes and over an hour every time you press ...

Bahagad Outbreak on Ace
I've started playing the best single player multi-level campaigns with D2X-XL latest version, and in the first level of this campaign I ran very low on energy and resources, but I carried on without dying (my primary rule for playing Descent is to never lose a life), sometimes having to use flares ...

I usually only dodge mega missiles, because it's too hard to dodge normal homing missiles in D1/D2 (in single-player which is all I go on). Homing Flash missiles are even worse - in Vertigo, if a MAX fires at me, it will definitely hit unless I am very far away with a large space to flee behind. I ...

Completely Completing Descent Series
I recently decided to play all the descent series in insane difficulty (except D2 Vertigo which I can't buy because there are no more copies). D1 is going fine, and I think it is going to be the easiest of the series in insane because D2 and D3 have robots that take ages to destroy, and jump out of ...
