Destroyed furnaces, then turned on left and right forcefields and unloaded everything I had. Still nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Try to find the invisible focal point on both the left and right forcefields and shoot them. :) If you can find it and shoot it, you can see sparks coming out of the wall next to you. Keep shooting it until you see an explosion. You do the same thing in Mercenary Level 3, BTW. Still having problems ...

It's a big level and there are things to do in different places. There are 4 or 5 entrances to the underground area, so the level is not linear. I suggest you explore the whole level. IIRC, there are some blue things you need to blow up near one of the entrances. Done that, still can't get Magnetic ...

Additionally there is no need to dodge him, you can hide in the corners near the gate where he came from and he can not reach you. By the way Duper, D3 v1.1 was released in the US, I don't know where you heard it was only released in Japan. He still does not need to use the 1.2 or 1.3 or 1.1 patches, the 1.4 patch is a 1.x to 1.4 patch, it will update any previous version to 1.4. :P Krom, I found different 1.4 non cd patch ...

Inorder to resolve my problem with Humoculous, I was advized to trey patches 1.2,1.3,1.4. On all three I got an error stating \"open file does not exist\". Anyone have a solution?

Since you can't run out of lives in D3, it doesn't really matter. Just go back and shoot at him over and over again.
