No, a just means everyone: user, group, and world. It's not a permission;
it tells chmod who to set permissions for. Doing chmod a+rwx is the
same as chmod ugo+rwx.

Unless you meant u+s (the setuid bit) you don't have to worry about it gaining root privilege without your knowledge. (flip: don't forget that one :)) The x bit just determines 'execute' permission, i.e. who can run the program. Remember, the file 'ownership' attribute normally only specifies who ...

Slightly OT ... but about a month ago I added an anaglyph stereo 3D mode to ProjectX (Forsaken source port) . The benefit is that you don't need any special (and windows-only iirc) nvidia driver or monitor refresh rate to make it work - it renders both red and green/blue/cyan every frame. http://fly ...

I chose the missile platform bot. Yeah the driller is fast and aggressive and good at doing some damage even if you're cautious, but one homer will kill it and its damage is limited. The missile platform on the other hand can completely screw you over for making one single mistake. BTW, what's the ...

Poppler is a PDF rendering library that includes utility programs to extract text and images from PDFs, among other things. If these utilities don't work the way you need them to, the Poppler library may aid a programmer in writing one that does. Notes: (1) Poppler is copylefted free software (GPL ...

Well, excuse our paranoia (I guess we should have googled around), but we generally don't see this kind of advertising from gaming services here. This and the automatic redirect to the download (even if it's on the download page) are what makes people suspicious; don't worry about the `sparseness ...

Yeah, Cedega is based on a very old Wine since they can't rip any code from
the newer, LGPL-licensed versions. I'd say let them die; Wine has gone a long
way since then and can now run many games with few or no problems.
As for Codeweavers - they rely on Wine and are funding development of it.

There's an event generated when a matcen spawns a bot, which can give you its object handle. Finding out when such newly generated bots are destroyed is another matter. I'm pretty sure it can be done, but maybe not using just DALLAS since it only lets you tie events to pre-existing objects. You'd ...

Ok, you should leave out missiles then. One more thing: how about leaving out the AB cooler (assuming that's what you meant by \"afterburner\")? Standard AB is more than enough for dogfights; cooler just makes it easier to do hit'n'run (speeding through the level and getting away). There's another ...

Looks cool. You can put in missiles to make it more interesting as long as you don't overdo it. 1 or 2 smart missiles and 2-3 single homing missiles scattered around the level should be fine, in addition to a few concs. Also consider using Hostile's modded plasma cannon (the one used in Athena and ...
