I agree with most aspects of the last replies. But why are we focused on something we aspect it will never happen? Can't we define a project that could possibly be done and start to contribute within our limits?! It could be a smart little project that shows what can be done and opens a perspective ...

Every project starts with small steps. It seems to me, that people look more for excueses then for progresses. Currently the situation is far away from the stage to lead anything. Currently we see total lack of interest imho. Why should it be more difficult today to find people? The knowledge how to ...

What I wanted to show is not the model. Its more about the netcode: the windows could as well run on remote machines, I use a server app in the background with udp protocoll to exchange data (enet as SDK). I will not go deeper into the modelling business. The models are there only as examples. I don ...

the game was available here in germany for just 5 euro. You have to repeat the same levels over and over to come to new surroundings, that means, the same scenario is reused for many levels. After a while you come along with the weapons and you can deal with the enemies. So far, good. but than it ...

Beyond that, you have to admit that your project is overly ambitious and doomed to fail on its current course. If you aren't a gloryhound, then make some maps for D2 or D3, why don't you? Start small and built up some credibility. Then ask for the help. Those who "talk crap" are the ones who just ...

the d3 community was often friendly, sometimes even nice. This should be used for the new game. Instead of naming supergods and stuff the better players could volunteer in the honorable function of a tutor. There _are_ players who love to play against good ones (me myself excluded )

psionik, you are busy working to become a legend. When you look around, what comes out these days, all the time needed is stil little time. It would really be interesting to learn, how a single man nowadays can design a whole video game :-)

heavy weaponload could also make nasty sounds (audible within the ship, not necessarily for others) because the engine is little overcharging. Gives you also a feeling what you do to your engines and how the load actually is. The idea behind it is, that it forces you to act more intelligently while ...

Re: size of balls

Was this the reason why laser is almost useless in d3? Umm, you haven't played much D3, then. Seems like I get 15-20% of my kills via lasers, especially in CTF. I don't want to get deeper into this but I think, the laser ist to week in d3 multiplayer (this is "ouch" speaking) I want to open a new ...

size of balls

what i miss in psionics description is the size of the balls. Vauss has very tiny balls, fusion has big ones, why it is harder / easier to hit your aim.
For rooks it would be nice to have a weapon you at least can make some demage to your aim. Was this the reason why laser is almost useless in d3?

complete custom ship skins will drag a server down. Ok, this has to be put into consideration. The data has to be shrinked in this extent, that it doesn't influence. Instead of full skin capapility there could be for instance an option to color certain fields on the ships' surface. So a player ...

considering the ships' size take into account, that the ptmc saw only a few ingeneers that could fly a ship and almost no pilot knowing the sophisticated specifications of the ships. Where the hack did they place the hostages? Well, these people knew their business. We are pilots, are we not?
