Just another option maybe. I have paid directly into company bank accounts to purchase goods on a few occasions. Seems pretty straight forward I think. Actually I'm quite flexible. I am happy to pay for whatever option is seen as getting most support. A fully assembled board, a board and all parts, a board and at least programmed MCU. I think the programmed MCU is the main problem for me but as you say others may not be tech enough for assembly ...
