Interesting to read!!
Scott, what was your usual Descent nickname? Trying to remember who you were...
I went by griffin for ODL, Original IDL, PPG from 1995-1999 then went by d0ggY when I got back into it for a time circa 2000-2002

Hey Scound, congrats! I was at a grocery store the other day and picked up a Video Game Records book and checked for you under DigDug and you're still there lol My story of first playing you in Descent goes like this: It was sometime in '95 or early '96 when I was still a newbie on Kali and learning ...

Webpage building program?
Since this is the only board I even bother to look at anymore, I'll ask you guys. What's the best WYSIWYG webpage builder right now (preferably one that can later support shopping carts)? I haven't used a WYSIWYG since Frontpage 98 and then did hard-coding using html and css. It's been about 5 years ...

When buying your blades, many salespeople will try to feed you BS about spending a bit more to get wheels with \"better\" bearings. They'll throw terms like ABEC at you and tell you that the ABEC 5 and ABEC 7 bearings will make it easier to blade due to quality and this and that. Tell them to go eff ...

The only time type-killing is cheap is if you call time out or ask the other player a question that requires a response and then kill them when you know they are responding. If a player chooses to sit and chat during a game or to type, especially in a 1on1 match, they are taking their own risk. Many ...

Re:
Got it, so ratting is a "whimp like thing", and mothing is a "stupid thing". Some of the best Descenters back in the pre-2000 age were solely rats and probably, imo, the hardest to beat. It is hardly wimpy and is actually quite difficult to master. Many self-proclaimed rats were horrendously ...

first off since most of the accounts of Christ happened within 20-30 years after his death they were probably 1st hand accounts The avg lifespan back then was around, what, 25-40 maybe. So that makes these first hand accounts from a bunch of people who were children when Christ died or not even ...

Re:
Science, above all else, instructs us to "question" results and never to believe what we are told simply because some authority figure says so. That is a really strange statement. Science, at its core, is about intellectual honesty, and proving or disproving assumptions experimentally (good science ...

Perhaps more significant is that science and history have yet to even prove "Jesus Christ" existed as a being. I had to go back and readdress this statement. while doing some research I found this little tidbit Since my initial post I've been idly amused by the replies. 1. Nero wasn't around when ...

To those who believe in the Shroud based on alleged scientific evidence, I laugh at the fact you place any bearing whatsoever on scientific evidence, since science is probably your greatest \"enemy\". For all accounts I've read and heard about, \"science\" has conclusively proven that the shroud was ...

Regardless of the Fguy comment in general, Palin herself is one of the most hypocritical pieces of garbage out there. First of all, it's not OK to use the word \"retard\" at all. Then it's apparently ok for people to use \"retard\" if it's satirical. Then she fights Family Guy - and overall, the Fox ...

Out of curiousity, did some of you go by different names pre-D3? I only recognize a handful of people in this entire thread (Lothar of course, Ferno rings a bell, Merlin and Lobber if they are the same as the ones I recall from Kali, and Grendel if he's the guy from the Descent tournament years back ...

In regards to my comments, I do not include D3 as one of the \"Descent's\" as it's too fundamentally different, imo. My argument is based solely on D1/D2 and regardless, I stand by my conclusion that fusion fails in your GOAT status as it is simply not an \"all-around\" weapon. Very very very few ...

Completely depends on the player you're playing against. Fusion is lethal but only a few players out there are truly effective with it (kiln, Bird), otherwise it's useless. Plasma is the same thing ...guys like otaY, katO, Chipmunk, and Rainbird were absolutely devastating with it but I found it ...
