I can take a stab at one of the secret levels, it seems I enjoy making puzzles that are different from the norm. The puzzle to get the yellow key in L14 of my yet-to-be-released mission comes to mind.

On the other hand, the level that took the shortest time to build was my first one, Brimstone research lab RL1096, with almost a week.

Just a quick off topic-ish question. Should we place a reactor in boss levels like parallax did or nah?
They'll disappear on load anyway. I think they are for anarchy or something. I've never played multiplayer so I'm not sure.

What's the longest time it has taken you to build a level?

I've just finished building level 21 of The Countdown, it took me 3 months. Even though my first level (Brimstone research lab RL1096) took me a just a week.
What is the longest time it took to build a level for everyone else? Just curious.
I bet you are all expecting good things from level 21 now :P

Only edit I'm planning to make is to put some warning stripes next to a couple of really important secret doors that otherwise blend completely into the floor. Perhaps the switches for the cloaks and invuls in the top compartments could go in the other corners like the two that are already there.

It will all be fine then as long as there is knowledge of what the boss spawns. But I dont think anyone will play this as their first descent game.

There is unlimited tries as long as long as you dont hit the switch that turn the forcefields off. Then you have as many tries as you have guided missiles.

You could replace the helix in level 39 that is right in front of as you start with fusion. It's a suitably hard secret for its first appearance.

Its probably better if the matcens spawned cloaked lifters. The boss is the main damage dealer and so the purpose of the lifters is so that the boss can get more shots on you

The robot reactors get used a lot in obsidian to cover switches. Same with level 6 of apocalyptic factor inside the yellow door. So maybe if there is a switch heavy level somewhere it might not be too weird to have one like that

It'll also mean that all levels have names then which is kind of a milestone.

Ultimate necro but...
Levels, both official and user made, use two 20x20x10 cubes for doors quite often. ( And it annoys me every time I see it because it looks untidy and forces surrounding textures to be aligned a certain way. Unless you want an ugly seam between textures.)

I've thought of a good name for level 39 now.
I'm calling it ul'go k'doc derelict quarter.
The first two words are an anagram of 'good luck'.
It has a nice ring to it and it also sounds like a base name for the orcs in The lord of the rings.

I've also noticed the texturing issues. Its definitely the ham because it happens with just the sound patch. It also completly messes up custom robots. (Decided to play The Enemy Within.) It's mostly the eyes that get borked.

Yeah I looked at the beta ceti section of the level list and noticed that groupa, ice and water had only one level each so I went for groupa which adds 1 to the groupa roster and maybe half to ice.
