I have been reminiscing about descent and thought I check back here. I’m glad the site is still online. Thank you! ...

I'm getting closer to posting a build but I'm having trouble finding 4GB 1066 ram moduals. I wanted to max out the motherboard at 24GB. CAS latency also seems high for what I could find. Any suggestions? Thanks. --Edit-- What does a \"Tripple Channel Kit\" really mean? Is this... http://www.newegg ...

So it's a give and take sort of thing. You lose raw speed to gain the ability to do more per clock cycle? How does that affect general computer use such as switching between programs, loading web browsers, single threaded programs, how responsive your system is etc. I'm trying to understand what I ...

Thanks for the informative post Krom. I'm a bit confused by a post a reviewer made for this cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117211 He says that this cpu has only 1 QPI link and so is only compatible with a single socket motherboard. Does that mean I have to spend more ...

Considering upgrading workstation
Sorry another question about hardware. I'm just not having much luck with my computer setup lately... I want to upgrade my video card but they don't make agp cards anymore so it looks like I need to buy a new computer. It only seemed like 3-5 years ago that I bought my current setup... I need advice ...

Yea it was alright. Could have been better. Too much like Battlestar. 2/3 BSG, 1/3 Atlantis and SG1, and 1/3 other. It's a lot more mature then the other seires. More blood, sex, violence and more serious. You can't really judge a series by the first episode but I found it kinda boring. Too much ...

I agree. I just don't have a big enough budget for a good hard drive. I know they're cheap but I was looking for one of the better drives. All the cheap ones I have found are out of stock... so for now I will continue to use the old drive for the OS and nothing else. If it fails nothing important is ...

I Finally found a different computer to try the drive on. I inserted the XP boot disk and tried to format the drive. Same thing as before. It would hand at 2% and give me a drive read error. Is it possible that the XP format software damaged my drive? The first time it formated fine but would give ...

Can't get new hard drive working
Hi, My old western digital 20GB hardrive made this weird constant clunking sound when i tried to boot up my computer the other day. I took the drive bay out(did not unplug the drive) and tried it again and this time the hard drive boot up but would hang on the windows loading screen. The repair ...

Hmm still haven't decided yet but I'm leaning toward the MX1100. Thoughts: MX1100 - Cheaper - Newer - Longer battery life (I think) - 1600 DPI - Mouse is a bit bulky. - Can run on a single AA battery - I can use standard AA Batteries. I have a charger so this isn't a problem. - Doesn't have the Auto ...
