Re: Spontaneous Combustion
I've seen this happen when I was a child maybe 4 years old, just happened to be walking by a can of linseed oil with a rag in it and noticed it started to smoke then "poof" it was on fire. Ran to my Father to have him put it out. That was inside the house and could have been a bad situation. Another ...

I turn off all those control schemes, they interfere more often than work. Welcome to my world of custom installation. Turn it off in the TV menu and the Blu-ray as well and see if it smartens up.

Those Pace boxes are absolute crap... just plug each component's HDMI out into a discrete HDMI input on the TV, sucks that you have to switch inputs but what is most likely happening is the HDCP signal is messing things up. This was more common in the early days of HDMI but not unheard of today ...

The first machine was a 486 SX 50, 1 meg ram, no cache memory, 256K video, no sound, 420 MB HD, DOS 6.22. I had to write a batch file to force as much into upper memory as I could to get Descent to run, and shrink the video down all the way just to get somewhat smooth game play. Hence the game ...

So now that your rims are "pretty" according to you... how are you going to cool your brakes? That is what the holes are for, to allow airflow to the rotors and pads.

Exercising batteries occasionally helps them have a long life, especially ones that aren't used for long periods and do better than the ones constantly cooking on a charger.

VonVulcan... you would be paying for toxic waste. Those batteries had three years use, then sat discharging for two years. I will bet dollars to donuts they will never charge and you will be stuck with disposing of them. Battery rebuilding shops may take the batteries for free tunnelcat.

Chaining up UPS's is a recipe for disaster. The UPS is designed to power a computer switching power supply not an inductive load like another UPS. Spec out conduit so that as technology changes then its easier to pull in fiber or whatever the flavour of the day is.
