What are some good, current racing games?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering what some of the best, current racing games are out there for split screen? I would like to get something for my X-Box that is fun to play against some of my buddies since my on-line play sucks. :\

Don't know if it has split-screen, but there's NFS Underground 2.

It does. Pretty good single player game too if you don't mind searching the city for action.

Forza Motorsport comes out in May, I think. Not sure if it'll have split screen or not, but it will have Live capability.

Theres always GT4 on the PS2, if one of your buddies has that.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of NFS:U 1. Well I was at first but it only lasted oh-so long. :\

I think GTR Racing is coming out for the Xbox but don't know when.

burnout 3 i believe has split screen, and you cant get much better

You might wanna check out the upcomming game 'Flat Out', its FAQ says the Xbox and PS2 versions will have split screen. They pushed it back to a 6/14 release date, but it may be just what your looking for. Race'n with A LOT of damage and rag-doll physics. Being able to throw your opponent through his windshield. Very cool, there is a demo for PC out. The full game also states 45 tracks will be included.

need for speed UG 2 is one of the most entertaining racing games imo the other was a ferrari racing simulation at a arcade :p

UG:2 is that good?

I guess I miss playing Hot Persuite in split screen in NFS: High Stakes. Probably my favorite racing game of all time. Couldn't get the patch to work though. :

They also tossed the ability to model new cars out the door in NFS:6. They also killed night and weather options and camera options.

Looks like they brought back weather at least.

And they ditched replay mode.

What about split screen and hot persuite mode?

I remember back in the day someone made some huge, uber-fast monster trucks to race with

That was fun to run over cop cars trying to chase us.

I would make a silver Jaguar XK-220 personally for it. Or a Porche Carrera or a Lotus Elise.

So did they bring any of this kind of functionality back in NFS: U2?
