Forsaken

Post by woodchip »

Don't know how many of you remember the intro to this game where a govt.lab ex[eriment goes wrong and fubars the planet. Well I couldn't help but think of that game when I read this:

"A fireball created in a US particle accelerator has the characteristics of a black hole, a physicist has said."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4357613.stm

So should we be worried? I already have guns and a motorcyle so I'm all set.

Very cool stuff. And no, I don't think we have to worry about the universe imploding. :P

P.S. at the black hole "picture" associated with that article. So that's what they look like!

A black hole that size would have an event horizon of maybe a few microns at most. All youd need would be to magneticly suspend it somehow in a vacuum.

Very interesting stuff, good thing gravity is not the major force involved, or we might be humming a different tune.

Heh... bin Laden dreams of having enough resources to come even close to making any of those happen.
