Seems to me we discussed the topic of the morality of posting the names of parolled child sex offenders a while back (heck could of been years ago). Some thought it was a invasion of the convicted crimminal as they had done their time and paid their debt to society.
Tell that to Jessica Lunsford's family. I propose all child sex offenders have a electronic leg charm attached permanently. I don't think they can ever be rehabilitated.
While we have our federal legislature working overtime to keep a persistent vegetative brain dead person plugged in, they have no problem letting people like the murderer of little Jessica live among us. I guess the rights of child molestors are more important than the kids they prey upon.

Add a "Sex Offender" tatoo in bold flourecent letters to their forehead because an electronic device wouldn't be detected by the avarage kid riding his bike down the sicko's street.

I agree with woodchip...

...before I go bathe in boiling water for that: the reason is just that there is such an incredibly high chance for a repeat offender for pedophilia. I read it is near 60% repeat, its just too serious a crime to allow them near kids ever again. I think they should get LWOP but in a martha stewert esc type of prison....they can have lemons.

they frighten me because they are something i don't understand. and i think you are all the same as me.

so i'd like to be seperate from the desision making process of their fate - leaving it to someone who understands enough to not let his fear of the unknown get in the way.

I'm sure in the not to distant future there will be some sort of medical way (apart from castration) of completely and permanently destroy the sex drive of these offenders. I will be all for it. Not only will it remove them as a threat, it will remove them from the gene pool. I understand the implications of this, but i don't give a sh1t.

That's what happened to that Dru Sjodin girl from Fargo?. That sex offender gets out of prison even with the prison board saying he would do it again, and he killed a young girl in a couple months time.

I don't think we as a society can rehabilitate these freaks. It's them unfortunantely. So let's put them in a federal prison system indefinitely. Hell, not even the stone-cold murderers are regarded as low as child molestors. It'll take care of itself. The only problem would be finding a way to increase the prison budget.
