Okay I've got an old Gateway LE500 monitor that for some reason today decided to start displaying everything as if I had the brightness turned way down.
I'm guessing that it's just run it's life course, but if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this. Please share.
Or if the general consenus is that I should junk it and buy a new one, I'll be sure to post pictures of the destruction process.
p.s. It's also blurry around the edges of the screen.
Normally I would say it needs adjustment, but if it was working fine and then suddenly started this for no reason something is probably wrong with it and will get worse. You might want to have a professional look at it, but say if it looks like it is going to cost more then $50 to have it fixed to just forget it and then buy a new one.

you moron, a real mini-gun would chew through a monitor in less than a second. that would be no fun, instant death.......ahh hell its all over now, time to go home. watching the CRT Screen slowly get plastered and shattering until it finally implodes is ALOT more fun.

Saw a video on Big-Boys.com couple days ago where 2 guys filled a super soaker with WD-40 and attached a flaming piece of paper out in front of the nozzle.
Okay, the destruction is complete. A friend of mine used his digital camera to document the destruction, so we've got some good stills and a few .avi files. I'll upload them sometime tomorrow.

They're coming . The USB connection on my buddies digital camera got pushed all the way in, so I have to wait until he exchanges it. I will post them ACECOMBAT so quit pushing this thread to the top and just wait.

i can appriciate building suspense and anxiety about wanting to see this video and the pics, but comon. at least a simple:
Camera cable is broken waiting on a new one.
I'm sorry. I didn't realize not seeing me destroying a monitor would upset you so much. Had I known, I would've posted broken links and such to really ★■◆● with you.

Better yet, screenshots of the broken image icon generated by the browser. (red X won't work for Ace since he doesn't use IE. )
