Another earthquake?!

Oh joy, another earthquake along the fault lines that started the tsunami a few months ago...

Seismologists have been expecting something along these lines since the first quake occurred. It's common for a large quake to be followed by another relatively large one within a reasonably short time; when the fault line slips with the initial quake, it often gets snagged somewhere else, leading to a second quake as pressure builds up. From the preliminary reports I've heard, there were some casualities related to buildings collapsing, but the tsunami threat didn't amount to much. Let's hope that holds up.

there was a tsunami!!

it hit the north west coast of australia and measured.... 30-50centimeters. as it surged inland it whiped out countless millimeters of realestate.

but back to the serious thing. yeah the earthquake has killed a lot of people.

there were at least 13 smaller quakes from 5.3 - 6.0

Those aren't small.

Question: Is that second large quake considered an after shock of the first? If not, why?

5.3-6.0 is appreciable, but not really damaging and certainly not devastating unless you live in mudhuts or those notoriously unstable stone tombs that only exist in Hollywood film sets.
