I guess "It's a new 6dof game, check out their website" was too hard.

Repeat after me: "This thread is about a recticle competition, not complaining about High Octane" Go make your own thread on their forums if want to complain to them about not posting enough.
On topic: I think I'll let the decent artists have a crack at it, while I work on graduating.

We apologize for the delay in updates and posts. We have been hard at work. We have artists of our own but your hud is kind of a personal thing and we thought it would be neat to see what suggestions the community has on the topic.
Feel free to ask questions.

I'd put in a vote for having multiple options, and one of them being the good old GL one.

As users you can add the old one in but as a company we cannot. We are going to take the submissions we get and put them up for vote to find out the top ten.

There would probably be some legal issues with using something produced by Interplay. Especially in something so public and something that HO would be making money off from.

If the fans do it as a 3rd party add on it isn't a problem. We just can't make it official and bundle it in the game.

Gee, I wouldn't want you to use the search function or google.
However, since you're the "first idiot", I'll just leave you with a link.

The insinuation in my post was that I had already done the research, MD, and was asking why it was so hard for you to have simply told me like a polite person...
it would have taken you as much effort to write their website than it would for you to say "find it yourself"

Yes. But now since you researched it you have added credibility to the cause.

uhh, cool idea but what are the guidelines? Does the reticle need weapon fire lights? Any other status lights? Pixel size?
Are we supposed to just guess?

Are there ANY Sample Screenshots?
Look at Unreal Tournament, Descent, and many many others for basic hud reticle ideas.

I think they want you to use your imagination free and unfettered of any preconcieved contraints.
I'd come up with a couple but then they'd have to rate their game "Mature".
