Er... it says that under W, the tax burden shifted a bit back towards the Republican ideal (away from "progressive").

I don't see where this gives you the idea he might be a closet Democrat. If the tax burden had become MORE progressive under him (and not just "over the period of time from 1979 to 1999") you might have an argument.

(Thanks for posting this, by the way... just recently I was looking for these numbers, to throw at a "class warfare" guy who thinks the government takes money from the poor and gives it to the rich. HEH!)

One point to consider is the raise in income of those in the top .1% compared to the rest. It grew considerably during this time.

yeah Vander... I'd love to see that sort of thing accounted for, as well. If you have the numbers, please, add them to the table.
