Well... yes... it seems to be the hyper-popular game of the week... :)

I'm probably already sorted for a guild though. Once I sort of, get in touch with people.

But are they still going to regularly release expansion packs that may or may not put you at a competitive disadvantage not to buy?

Competitive disadvantage depends on your point of view. You do have less flexibility, yes, but that doesn't mean your character will suck. Might just not be exactly what you wanted.

Price is definitely right but they had NO open demo for me to TRY it.

I've purchased too many games that had no demos that just plain sucked.

Oh well... "No Demo = No Sale!"

It's really fun, though if you like playing DnD games, it'll take some getting used to. The main thing that got to me was the lack of information on how everything worked and how damages/armor class were calculated...I was playing NWN right before I bought it. :D

Well, yeah. NWN is a rules lawyer's version of the game. It's not bad, but it gets caught up trying to be D&D for so long it forgets about balancing and game flow.

That said, I have both and would rather have both... NWN can be played without the use of a master server as well.

It's not meant to be.
It's meant to be fun, not calculated.

Back note. Some people maintain that the BWE was the demo, so to speak. Of course, it doesn't help you much if you hadn't heard of the game until it was released.

Also... well. WoW isn't bad, naturally, but GW does fix a few issues it has... for instance, the whole pay-per-month concept in the first place... in general the expansion system is probably a better way of doing it since you widen your market.

In addition, there are things like dungeon farming and quest queues... which most MMORPGs, I think WoW included, still have, but GW doesn't.

Plus you don't NEED to level as much as possible to be competitive - you can start out at the maximum level and only go PvP if you need to.

Just a bunch of little things that result in a lot less annoyance. But it still depends upon perspective; I don't know exactly what WoW has.

Well, yeah, but i think what he means is that on your character sheet, the game doesnt even tell you how much total damage your character does or what your total armor rating is - basic stuff for any RPG game.

anyway, its fun so far. I don't really like some aspects of it, like how each class has their own set of armor, and how everyone in one class looks more or less the same

also, i dont like that monks are actually what most games call "priests." monks are combat classes, dammit :(

btw, i am Verilia Iykobe Mo/W 6 (im probably already going to be in a guild though)

Matter of opinion... in real life, 'monk' doesn't usually refer to the martial-arts-Chinese kind of monk.
