Snuff is, by definition, a video in which someone is sacrificed and is made to be sold for distribution. That has never happened; the CLOSEST thing that has ever happened are serial killer video's in which victims are tortured and/or raped, but they have, until now, never actually been killed on camera

They claim a snuff film is a film of a real killing made for entertainment purposes.
If that's the way you define "snuff film", then it's pretty likely the things don't exist in the West, at least not for circulation. It seems like the snopes definition is motivated specifically to counter people's perceptions that there might be an industry out there devoted to videotapes of murders.
I still think some of the Mujahadeen videos would qualify -- they're videos of murders made in order to entertain the sick beliefs of those who make them. They're *also* made as propaganda, and which motivation is the "real" one is hard to say.
