21st? Does anyone remember when a game used to go gold, it meant it was coming out in like; a week?

;)

Some games get to stores within 2 weeks of going gold, others make it to the net first :P

Games like BF2 will obviously have a longer delay between going gold and hitting retailers since they're in such high demand.

The great thing about Battlefield is its ability to handle massive numbers of players (64+) and still add bots to the mix. It actually looks like a real battle.

I've done this for about 3 years now with World War II On-Line. There can be well over 64 guys in one battle. many times it's over 100. Now THAT's a battle.

BF2 is going to suck to alot of people because they removed CTF Game Play, and CTF is pretty much what i see going on nowdays.

Well I have already preordered this. It's definitely too bad about no ctf but maybe their will be a good mod for it. I'm hoping so as I play alot of bf42 ctf.

CTF games always were a small minority in BF42/BFV. I have been playing BF42/BFV/the DC mod for over 1 1/2 year almost exclusively and on a near-daily base, and never have seen many of them. Why run after a single flag if you've got 3 to 5 bases to capture and defend?

Didn't like BFV though. They put all the problems back in that had been resolved in BF42 after a lot of user complaints, and added some. Good thing that the DC team has been hired to help in making BF2.

So I am really looking forward to BF2. I haven't played any other game in my life so intensely for such a long period as BF42 and the DC mod. For me personally it's the greatest game I've ever played (though there are a few other extremely good games).

My personal top five are:
  • BF42 + DC Mod
  • Operation Flashpoint
  • Half Life (1)
  • Deus Ex (1)
  • Descent (2)

CTF, is a big hit for alot of people. im one of them. because it requires a good sense of teamwork while trying to cap a flag.

alot of defense because you got hoards of enemy knowing exactly where you are and what your doing with your name flashing across the entire map!

the only good CTF was Quake2 CTF.
